Weekend in Hartsville: 1st Fish and Trip to the Zoo!!

We had a GREAT time with GiGi and Pop Pop this past weekend in Hartsville.  The biggest news while in Hartsville is that Jackson caught his 1st FISH!!!  Well... reeled in a small brim that Rusty caught.  He was SO excited.

Then on Sunday, we all headed to the Riverbank Zoo to meet MiMi, Aunt Kimmie, Bobbie Jo and her friend Natalie.  What a FUN DAY!!!  Jackson has been talking about the animals for weeks and he was thrilled that the day was finally here.  Some of the highlights were feeding the giraffes, feeding the birds and Jackson's favorite- feeding the goats!  One of the first animals that we saw were the lions and they were laying around napping, until Jackson yelled at them, "WAKE UP LIONS!!!"  It was hilarious!!

Easter Fun!

We enjoyed a visit from GiGi and Pop Pop over Easter weekend. They helped with our garage sale, where we were able to get rid of a ton of stuff and make a little cash too!! Saturday night, thanks to Ashley Hancock to watch Jackson, we went out to a nice adult dinner to celebrate Rusty finishing his Associates degree in Business Managment and Marketing Mangament. So proud of him!!! Then for Easter we went to a nice Easter church service, then had Rusty's mom and grandparents over for a yummy Sunday lunch. Jackson with his Easter Basket Jackson flying his new kite that the Easter Bunny gave him! Jackson and his FIRST golf lesson with Daddy!!

March Madness!

Jackson is now over 3 feet tall and growing like a weed. He is still limited on vocabulary, but understand just about anything you ask him to do. Throw that in the trash, go show daddy, where did you leave you cup- go find it.....etc. Jackson is a HUGE fan of the movie Cars and Toy story. He is very quick to point out the characters where ever we go and squeal with delight! Just this weekend ( 3/10/12) Jackson helped me take off the side of his bed to make it a "Big Boy" bed. He LOVES it!! It took me almost 2 hours to get him to stay in the bed for his first Big Boy nap, but my persistence paid off and he finally dozed off to sleep. Today I took him downtown to a Children's Fair with tons of jump castles, music, games and more. We had a BLAST. ( Below are a few pics from today)

XOXO

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012!!

Since my last post in October we've had tons going on!!

The holidays gave us some much needed family time with the passing of both of my grandmothers, my mother's mom in September and my dad's mom in December. We all miss them both very much but are truly blessed to have known both of them and have each of them to meet both Jackson and Reid.

Thanksgiving was celebrated here in Charleston with Rusty's family with a large group of family and as always- way too much yummy food. I dealt with laryngitis during the month of November that finally cleared up after 5 weeks- whew that was awful!! Jackson had a blast chasing all of his cousins and trying all the Thanksgiving food traditions. Then in December as we said goodbye to Grannie Davis we all were able to stay at my parents house for 5 days during the Christmas season. Jackson and Reid had a BLAST!! Reid is 4-months older than Jackson, so it is great that they are so close in age to play play play!!! Gi Gi ( my mom) and Pop Pop ( my dad) had a tree set up just for the kids so they could play with the ornaments and Santa's elves left a present under their tree every morning until Christmas day. So much fun!!

Jackson continues to grow like a weed and is babbling up a storm - all in his own language still, but super cute. It amazes me the things he is picking up and starting to share. He knows where his eyes, ears, belly button ( thanks to grandpa Calvin), head, and feet all are. Just this last week he was moved into the next level class and now sits at a table to eat. Such a BIG BOY!!!

Here are some pictures we had taken over Christmas!
