Easter Fun!

We enjoyed a visit from GiGi and Pop Pop over Easter weekend. They helped with our garage sale, where we were able to get rid of a ton of stuff and make a little cash too!! Saturday night, thanks to Ashley Hancock to watch Jackson, we went out to a nice adult dinner to celebrate Rusty finishing his Associates degree in Business Managment and Marketing Mangament. So proud of him!!! Then for Easter we went to a nice Easter church service, then had Rusty's mom and grandparents over for a yummy Sunday lunch. Jackson with his Easter Basket Jackson flying his new kite that the Easter Bunny gave him! Jackson and his FIRST golf lesson with Daddy!!

March Madness!

Jackson is now over 3 feet tall and growing like a weed. He is still limited on vocabulary, but understand just about anything you ask him to do. Throw that in the trash, go show daddy, where did you leave you cup- go find it.....etc. Jackson is a HUGE fan of the movie Cars and Toy story. He is very quick to point out the characters where ever we go and squeal with delight! Just this weekend ( 3/10/12) Jackson helped me take off the side of his bed to make it a "Big Boy" bed. He LOVES it!! It took me almost 2 hours to get him to stay in the bed for his first Big Boy nap, but my persistence paid off and he finally dozed off to sleep. Today I took him downtown to a Children's Fair with tons of jump castles, music, games and more. We had a BLAST. ( Below are a few pics from today)

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012!!

Since my last post in October we've had tons going on!!

The holidays gave us some much needed family time with the passing of both of my grandmothers, my mother's mom in September and my dad's mom in December. We all miss them both very much but are truly blessed to have known both of them and have each of them to meet both Jackson and Reid.

Thanksgiving was celebrated here in Charleston with Rusty's family with a large group of family and as always- way too much yummy food. I dealt with laryngitis during the month of November that finally cleared up after 5 weeks- whew that was awful!! Jackson had a blast chasing all of his cousins and trying all the Thanksgiving food traditions. Then in December as we said goodbye to Grannie Davis we all were able to stay at my parents house for 5 days during the Christmas season. Jackson and Reid had a BLAST!! Reid is 4-months older than Jackson, so it is great that they are so close in age to play play play!!! Gi Gi ( my mom) and Pop Pop ( my dad) had a tree set up just for the kids so they could play with the ornaments and Santa's elves left a present under their tree every morning until Christmas day. So much fun!!

Jackson continues to grow like a weed and is babbling up a storm - all in his own language still, but super cute. It amazes me the things he is picking up and starting to share. He knows where his eyes, ears, belly button ( thanks to grandpa Calvin), head, and feet all are. Just this last week he was moved into the next level class and now sits at a table to eat. Such a BIG BOY!!!

Here are some pictures we had taken over Christmas!

Playing Catch up!

Okay, so I guess we have been super busy, cause I have not updated the blog since August, whooopps!!!

Let's see... I know I keep saying it, but seriously - Jackson is growning up WAY too fast!! Jackson really trying to say words and babbling alllllll the time. He points to things and babbles his own word for that item. He is still in the first step above the nursery room, but they are starting to talk about him moving up to the next room in the next few months. Just this week he started taking his naps at daycare on a mat instead of in the crib. He has also amazed the daycare staff as to how quickly he can remove his pants AND his diaper while their head it turned.....not good. Rusty and are really enjoying Jackson and each day is a new adventure as to what he just might do next. Great example: tonight Rusty asked Jackson ( just joking around) " Jackson do you need to go potty? " Jackson ran towards the bathroom so I ( following along) took off his diaper and placed him on the potty........he pee-pee on the potty!! Okay, so we are very aware that this is not the norm and he is SO not ready for potty training at 15 months, BUT super excited that he is interested to say the least.

This past Sunday we took Jackson to a local family farm to pick out a pumkin, show him some of the farm animals, and took a hay ride to feed the cows!! He loved it!!!

Cape Cod - July Trip

Whew! So much going on.....

The weekend after Jackson's birthday, we flew out to meet my parents, brother, his wife Shelly, their 16-month old sweet sweet baby girl-Reid, my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mike. We all stayed in Beautiful Chatham, Cape Cod in a house for a whole week- what fun times!!! We were there to celebrate my mom's BIG 6-0 Birthday and just enjoying being all together on a much needed vacation. It was SO much fun seeing Reid and Jackson play and learn from each other - too cute. Since we were so close to Boston, my good friend Laura and her better half, Do were able to come and hang out on Sunday - always great to see my Laura-Ru!!! Mom and Dad orgainized a local Chef to come into the house and cook us a traditional Maine Lobster dinner. Gi Gi made everyone Lobster Bibs for the dinner- so cute! We took the kids on walks downtown where they both enjoyed their first icecream!! We took Jackson to see the Cape Cod Chip Factory - very cool to see how those yummy chips are made! We also got a night off just me, Rusty, Anderson and Shelly - THANKS GI-GI AND POP POP!! We got to enjoy a kid free dinner with some well deserved wine! We also took some family pictures- thanks to Deb and Mike for grabbing some great shots! Below are some pictures from our trip!

Happy Birthday To You!!!

It is SO SO hard to believe that our baby boy is a whole 1 years old!!! Just to think back on what we ALL went through and accomplished over the last 365 days..... just amazing how quickly time passes by - way too quickly! Fun was had by all for Jackson's big Birthday. We had a pool party at Rusty's Aunt and Uncle's house- Erin and Ricky Presnell. Although the thunderstorms brought the party to a crashing hault, we still managed some great food, dip in the pool, TONS of presents and some yummy cake!! Here are some picutures and a video of Jackson enjoying his cake.
